Podcast Transcripts to Blogs

If you have a podcast and you aren’t turning your transcripts to blogs, you’re missing out on an extremely valuable resource!

Did you know that you can optimize your podcast episodes to increase your website SEO rank? You can! And we’ll tell you how so that you can get the most out of your podcasting efforts.

Let’s start with the basics, a podcast transcript is a word-for-word account of everything in your episode. Either you or software can listen to the episode and write down every word spoken by both you and your guests.

You cannot publish your transcript on the podcast platforms, but you can post it to your own website. You do, however, have the ability to publish show notes on the podcast platform, but these allow for only a few hundred words.

If you want to get the most out of your podcast, you turn it into a transcript and post it to your blog. Google loves long-form content and you can easily get 6,000 words of content from just a 30-minute podcast episode. More quality content on your site creates a massive SEO boost.

Always create a separate landing page on your website for complete show notes and where your readers can access any of the behind the scenes information or additional resources you mentioned in the show, along with any guest information.

You never want to give away all the goods in the description of your podcast episode. The goal should be to create an enticing description that compels people to listen and that explains what they’ll hear when they do.

You give the listener just a taste of what’s available and then always link them BACK to your website to get anything beyond the tidbits you shared. This includes any promo codes, too! Make the listener click the link to that episodes’ show notes to get the information and promos you’re offering ON your website.

Give your readers a GOOD reason to head to the full show notes on your blog. Whether you have a promo code for your upcoming course launch or you’re linking up the socials for your podcast guest, make sure you’re constantly reminding and encouraging your readers to take that next step and click the link in your show notes.

By driving your podcast traffic to your website, you’re getting more eyes on your website. And more eyes on your website equates to increased SEO and more opportunities to convert that traffic into paying customers.

On each landing page, you can link your visitors to other blog posts, pages on your site, your shop, etc. The first step in selling your brand is getting the traffic on your site. Once you have them there, you have a whole wealth of opportunity to invite them to engage further with your brand and to become familiar with it.

This is even easier when you already have a loyal podcast following, it will feel very natural for your podcast listeners to head to your site to learn more. The goal should be to take your listeners off the podcast platform where they found you and get them to come to join you over on your platform aka your website!

By turning your podcast transcripts to blogs, you can make a massive impact on your SEO and create even more loyal followers of your brand.

If you’re producing high-quality, valuable content on your podcast and enticing people to explore more and cash in on the goods you promised, they’ll have no problem clicking that link in the show notes and exploring the information you have waiting for them on your site.

This is one of the most valuable and under-utilized sources of traffic among podcasters! If you have a podcast or are thinking of starting one, be sure to use these tips to make sure you get the most possible out of your efforts!
